Today near the main parking lot at Arrowhead Marsh in ML King Regional
Shoreline there was a male (and possibly female next to it) Blue-winged
Teal. It was snoozing on the mud at the junction of the channels near
the second bridge as you head right (away from the boardwalk). There
were also 2 Greater White-fronted Geese on the lawn near the boardwalk.

Yesterday in Concord in the actual creek named "Walnut Creek", there
were female Common and Hooded Mergansers. The creek is viewable from
the Iron Horse bike / pedestrian trail. The first location is a short
distance north of Monument Blvd, just beyond where the concrete channel
opens up to a pseudo-natural creek. There was a female Common Merganser
there yesterday, although Hooded had been there regularly the last few
weeks. Yesterday there was a female Hooded Merganser about half way
between Monument Blvd and Highway 242. Three more female Hooded
Mergansers were around the drop structure just north of highway 242,
which is around a mile north of Monument. Males had been around in more
or less equal numbers to females for the last few weeks, but I couldn't
    find any yesterday.
