     Along Dust Trail, at Coyote Regional Park, the Tree Swallows are returning to lay claim to one of the many nest boxes on poles along the path.  
    
    They fly endlessly in graceful swoops back and forth along the canal beside the trail. Then one will land on a box and seemingly fight off the challenges of others who sweep in...such as the one in this picture.

    Well, at least that is how I interpret it.  Someone more knowledgeable might hopefully provide a better explanation of their current behavior.
