[EBB Sightings] American Bittern at Contra Loma

I was fortunate to see the American Bittern up close  yesterday afternoon.  The bittern was stalking a Moorhen.  The bittern was gaining on the clueless moorhen but  a  noisy marsh wren showed up, and the bittern's attention momentarily shifted toward the wren.   The moorhen was able to  hide behind some reeds.  For the next 20 minutes  I watched as the moorhen sat still with the bittern in close proximity sitting just as still.  I watched as long as I could but gave up.  Also saw a northern harrier hunting along the hillside.  There were several white pelicans and a couple eurasain wigeons too.
