Friday afternoon Rosita and I drove to Jean Richmond's house in Alamo. She
is the author of the first "Birding Northern California", which is available
online at the Mt. Diablo Audubon Society website. She has had a recent
"back" surgical procedure. We took some get-well cards which had been
signed at our monthly meeting the night before. She is very thankful.

While there we watched the birds in her "back" yard and saw a Pine Siskin,
    many Juncos, including a Slate-colored and a Pink-sided, a pair of Nuttall's
and a pair of Downy Woodpeckers, a Hermit Thrush and others. She is doing
    well in recovery.

This morning while Rosita went around Lafayette Reservoir three times, doing
her training for a Wellness Community fund-raiser, I went around once
working on my year list. It was a "T" day, Turkeys, Spotted Towhee and
California Thrasher. The Thrasher was at the "back" end of the reservoir,
up on a hillside singing and singing. It took me a long time to find it,
there were a couple of pine trees between me and the bird. What a great
    sound.

Two American White Pelicans continue swimming on the reservoir.
