I was at the end of Albany Bulb at high tide today. The rocky perimeter of
the lagoon was isolated from the rest of the bulb by the tide, creating a
safety zone for shorebirds. Among the roughly 2000 birds roosting there
were SURFBIRD (2), BLACK OYSTERCATCHER (9), BLACK TURNSTONE (40), SPOTTED
SANDPIPER (3). The remainder were many BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER, DUNLIN,
WESTERN AND LEAST SANDPIPERS. And one WILLET.
