Today I did my weekly bike ride part way up Mt Diablo's north entrance 
(great exercise), and observed our now familar flock of western bluebirds 
(maybe 8-10 birds).  I also spotted a male rufous-sided towhee alongside the 
road, several acorn woodpeckers, and a flicker.
