[EBB Sightings] Western Screech Owl at Mitchell Canyon

There is a wonderful Western Screech Owl visible from the Mitchell Canyon
parking lot at Mt. Diablo.  It is located in an oak tree hollow and was seen
Sat. morning around 10am snoozing.  When I returned around 1:30pm after a
hike, it was gone, but the nice woman at the nature center said that the owl
was quite active throughout the day, flying in and out to the delight of
visitors!

To view it, stand near the metal newspaper stand in the parking lot and look
at the big oak tree to your right.  You'll see the sizable hole straight up
the main large branch.
