[EBB Sightings] Pileated woodpecker heard at Redwood Regional Park

Yesterday, 10 Dec 2008, Marsha Feinland and I were scouting out Joaquin Miller Park in Oakland. We were near the Sequoia Arena picnic area when Marsha heard the Pileated Woodpecker "Woo! Woo!" call from somewhere east of us. We crossed the road and worked through the MHA paking area, up to PAL, etc., but had no further sight or sound.

We also had a large, noisy and invisible flock of Pygmy Nuthatches in the pines at Sequoia Arena and more near the PAL camp in Redwood.
