    Hi all:

On my way home from work I swung onto Cushing Pkwy in Fremont and scanned the big field adjacent to Lamb Research on the NW side. In a large flock (350) of Canada Geese, there was one Cackling Goose (minima) and one Greater White-fronted Goose. Also mixed in was an intermediate sized Canada Goose with darker flanks and darker legs than the other larger Canada Geese. My first reaction to this darker bird was that it was a Dusky Canada Goose. Further study of its rather light upper chest had me doubting. My guess is that it's a Lesser Canada Goose. The bill is too large for Cackling Goose. A couple of photos can be seen at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/14935921 at N00/
    Any comments welcome.

    Good birding,
