    Hello E.B.Birders,

This morning there was an interesting looking Fox Sparrow in San Ramon. This was a lovely individual. Rusty and lightish gray face, with a white chin and throat. There was white above the darker malar area which extended below and slightly behind the auriculars, and there was also a central horizontal white stripe below the throat. The breast was marked with rusty chevrons on clean white, and the lower belly and undertail coverts where unmarked white. Unfortunately, that was all I was able to see. I welcome comments from anyone who might see the bird.

The bird was near the top of a cottonwood tree along the Iron Horse Trail, south of Executive Parkway, about 30 feet north of the small footbridge that leads east to the school. This area also has a gardener's building and work area. The bird was not associating with any other sparrow at the time. I heard no vocalization.

I went back during my lunch hour for better views, but was unable to relocate it. Two Sooty Fox Sparrows and a tan-striped White-throated Sparrow were in the same general area.
