Sorry for late posting but last Friday afternoon, Nov. 7 between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. at low tide I counted five male Eurasian Wigeon loafing in with their American cousins in a small channel in the Albany mudflats adjacent to Buchanan Street next to the racetrack. The channel can be seen from the hill (where the fenced off Burowing-owl mitigation area is) to the right of the viewing platform on Buchanan. Also seen Friday one lone male Canvasback and one female. There were thousands of shorebirds out in the marsh but too far for binocs.

Yesterday, Sunday, late afternoon did not re-find Eurasian Wigeon but did see an Osprey on the wood pilings, and the Canvasback pair were snoozing in addition to a great number of shorebirds.
