    Hi all:

At the golf course across from San Leandro Marina this morning at 10 a.m. there were 14 Greater White-fronted Geese. With golfers chipping to the green and teeing off all around them, they didn't budge. The moment they caught sight of a birder with a scope.....liftoff to Winton Ave. I thought they'd end up on Radio Tower Hill, but if Bob Dunn didn't see them they must have touched down elsewhere.

At Hayward Reg. Shoreline, at the west-most bridge just north of Johnson's Landing, a male Eurasian Wigeon was in with the Wigeon and Pintails taking advantage of high-tide there. From the Visitor Center observation deck, in Bob's footsteps, I saw a male Hooded Merganser in the Hayward Marsh ponds.

At the west end of Depot road in Hayward, some kind of insect hatch brought in 2 Barn Swallows and 60 White-throated Swifts. It wasn't Healdsburg, but it wasn't bad.

    Good birding,
