Yesterday seven pine siskins joined a group of forty American goldfinches at thistles feeders in the backyard of my Pleasant Hill home. A red breasted nuthatch savored long drinks from a birdbath also in the backyard. Today five siskins remain aggressively feeding and defending the top spots of the hanging feeders.
