[EBB Sightings] Little Blue Heron Sighting - 8/8/08

Hi Birders,

I was asked to pass on this sighting of the Little Blue  Heron from today.  
The location described is quite a bit east of previously  reported sightings 
(east of Niles Community Park).  You can access the  north side of the Alameda 
Creek trail from the park itself, from the south end  of "I" Street, or the 
east end of Third, as noted below.  All of these  access points are in the town 
of Niles.



[Since I don't post and many people are still in search of Little Blue you  
may want to post the latest location as of 11 this morning. It was seen in the  
creek near the inflated dam by Mission Blvd. Access the creek by Chase and 
Third  in Niles and walk (east) towards the dam. At one point I had Little Blue, 
a  snowy, a great egret, and a BCNH all in the same binocular view. The green 
 herons were further to the west, closer to the Niles park access. They were  
flying back and forth across the creek. Also a large number of white pelicans 
 feeding together between the park and the dam - probably about 18 of them.
