    Hi All,
This morning Denise Wight and I spent a few hours
birding around Richmond. It was foggy and cool but the
lighting conditions around Brooks Island were
    phenomenal.

    Highlights included:

Harlequin Duck/ male on cement block in front of
    Brooks Island

Long-tailed Duck/ 2 around cement blocks in front of
    Brooks Is.

Brandt's Cormorant/ One on metal pole in front of
    Brooks Is.

Elegant Tern/ 45+ on Brooks Island.

Common Murre/ At least 15 seen flying beyond the
breakwater north of Brooks Is., as viewed from near
Miller/Knox Regional Shoreline. This is almost surely
more murres than have ever been seen in the county in
a day but some of these birds may have been within SF
    County airspace.

Cackling Goose/ One at the pond at Miller/Knox
Regional Shoreline, seen last week by Denise.

The Brooks Island birds were seen at about 7:30-8:30
from the park at the end of Marina Bay Parkway in
    Richmond.

    Good luck,
    Steve Glover
