This morning at 8 am there was a common murre in breeding plumage
standing in very shallow water along the shore about 10 yards south of
Albany Beach at low tide this morning. We first saw it standing in the
shallow water just off the beach, but it walked over to the rip-rap
after dogs arrived on the beach. It doesn't seem inclined to swim, even
    when dogs approach.
