    Hi birders,

Having looked specifically for Elegant Terns at this park at least four
times in the last two weeks, I was glad to hear they had finally arrived. At
about 6:15 pm today, ten Elegant Terns (adults and juveniles) flew in to the
mudflats at Middle Harbor Park. Caspian and Least were also there, but no
    Forster's at that time.

I had also been looking for ELTEs at the Alameda Shoreline (as recently as
yesterday!), so I stopped by there on my way home. There was one adult
Elegant Tern among the Forster's on the mudflats at Elsie Roemer Sanctuary. Also
of note were many Sanderlings, most still in breeding plumage.

    Good birding,
    Kathy Robertson

Yesterday at Middle Harbor Park in Oakland we saw all four of the
local tern species that we see commonly in this area. We saw three
Elegant Terns, one Forster's, five Caspian, and at least 20 Least
Terns fishing and roosting on sandbars in the bay in front of the
    park.
