Today I visited Heather Farm Park in Walnut Creek twice, once about 8 AM,
the other at midday. The Great Blue Heron and the Black-crowned Night-Heron
from this AM were still there at noon. So were two Snowy Egrets and a Great
Egret. Try as I might I could not find a Green Heron to complete a sweep.

As I was searching though, a Spotted Sandpiper flew south along the natural
pond and landed on the island across from the wooden railing.

In the extreme south end of the natural pond, I found a Pied-billed Grebe
nest yesterday. Unfortunately, the Night-Heron is sitting about 15 feet to
the right of it, waiting. Standing at the south railing and looking to
one's left, the nest is just to the left of a submerged white box of some
kind. The box appears to be a piece of trash lost by some weekend park
    users.
