[EBB Sightings] Urban Bluebird nest

Today, I was surprised to see a Western Bluebird foraging in San Pablo Park in Berkeley; Even more surprised when she went to a nest hole in a Sycamore and fed young. 

This area is quite urban and no where near the usual Bluebird locations of the East Bay. The nearest big intersections are Ashby & San Pablo and Ashby & Sacramento.

The hole was a Nuttall's Woodpecker nest site last year.

I've always assumed that House Sparrows and Starlings made successful urban Bluebirds nestings almost impossible.
