[EBB Sightings] red crossbill

There must be a nest of red crossbills along Las Trampas Road in Lafayette, about 200 yards from Glenside Drive, because I found a juvenile female panting in distress in the middle of the road and lots of peeping nearby.  After giving it a drink of water and cooling it off with water and fanning, I returned it to the brush.  I haven't seen crossbills in the over 20 years I've lived here.  Has anyone else sighted them locally?
