    Hi all:

Things have been very quiet in Lake Wobegone, but this
morning, to make sure my heart was still working, two
Barn Owls flushed out of the tall shrubs/trees
in-between the first two Eucalyptus Trees as you enter
the staging area at Winton Ave, Hayward, CA

I walked along the staging area road first and then
went through the trees and walked along the north side
of the trees back toward the residence and fence. The
Barn Owls flushed then, off of the north side of the
trees, so they must have been roosting fairly low.
They weren't roosting high in the Eucs. One
    re-flushed (it's a word) a minute or two later as I
approached the fence adjacent to the first Euc as you
enter the staging area. I didn't see where it landed,
and I couldn't find either bird as I retraced my
    steps. There's a good chance that they've re-roosted
(definitely a word) along that row of trees, but I
guess an equally good chance that they've buried
    themselves along the channel somewhere.

    Good birding,
