Today in Strawberry Canyon, Berkeley there were 8 not so old, in two slightly different age/size groups, turkey chicks, following a Tom. Then I noticed there were 4 more Toms but no hens. The toms got their feathers ruffled over something, tails up, gobbling with 3 of them in a scuffle. As I got closer an alarm went up as well as the chicks, very adeptly into the nearby trees. The lack of hens makes me wonder if they're sitting on yet another batch of eggs.
