Many migrants are the first or second June record. Seen today at the shoreline -

American Kestrel - 1 seen over Ora Loma Marsh is only the second June record I have for the shoreline. The irst was 6-28-98.

Olive-sided Flycatcher - 1 at Winton Ave., found by Bob Power. I was at Winton Ave. from 0745 to 0815 and 1100 to 1115 (times are only estimates) and only saw it during the late morning. This is the first June record at the shoreline.

Western Wood-Pewee - 1 seen on the trees on the west side of Skywest Golf Course, seen from the railroad tracks on the east side of Ora Loma Marsh. This is the second one I have seen in this area in June. The first one was 6-2-98.

Pacific-slope Flycatcher - 1 seen at Winton Ave. is the first in June I have seen at the shoreline.

Eastern Phoebe - 1 in the trees along Winton Ave. across from the entrance to the park office. This is only the third county record that I know about. It seems like an odd time of year to see one. Seen around 1145 AM.

Ash-throated Flycatcher - 3, 1 at Winton Ave. and 2 near the willows on the east side of Ora Loma Marsh. This is the second June record I have for the shoreline.

Western Bluebird - 4 on the east side of Ora Loma Marsh. 1 adult male, 1 adult female, and 2 fledglings. First June record I have for the shoreline.

White-breasted Nuthatch - 1 seen in the willows on the east side of Ora Loma Marsh. This is the second record I have for the shoreline. The first was seen in early April of 2002.

Purfle Finch - 1 male near the willows on the east side of Ora Loma Marsh. The female plumaged bird was not seen.

Western Tanager - 1 at Winton Ave. Only seen early in the morning.

Hooded Oriole - 2 at Winton Ave. Only seen late in the morning.

    Good birding
