    All;

    There was no concentrated raptor migration at Crockett Hills this Spring.
    Have checked once each week or so since mid-March. My most recent visit was
    yesterday. The number of raptors seen on all visits was 5-10 per hour, and
    most of these were locals.

    The Crockett Hills EBRPD rangers confirm that they have seen lots of raptors
    up there in the Spring for several years past, so will plan to check again
    next Spring.

    Have checked with Roger Hartwell who supervises the ranger team in the San
    Pablo/Briones lakes watershed, which is WSW of Crockett Hills. He says they
    have not seen any unusual raptor activity this Spring. So I rule out that
    the migration shifted several miles west.

    I did only a casual check of the ridges east of Crockett, but I suspect that
    EBB birders would have noticed large numbers of raptors there by now, as
    they would have been passing the Mitchell Canyon area coming north. So am
    fairly sure they did not shift to the east.

    Northward raptor migration in the Spring is typically more dispersed than in
    the Fall, so this all may not be unusual.
