Yesterday (Sat, May 3) at Black Diamond Mines Regional Preserve near 
Antioch, my husband & I birded the area around the parking lot and 
then the Chaparral Loop Trail.

Highlights included:
- 2 Cooper's Hawks (1 adult, 1 juvenile)
- Ash-throated Flycatcher
- 3 House Wrens (including feeding young)
- CANYON WREN (seen on rocks east of Chaparral Loop Trail; 2nd 
individual heard-only)
- 2 Blue-gray Gnatcatchers (nest-building)
- Warbling Vireo
- 2 Townsend's Warblers
- 4 Bullock's Orioles
- CHIPPING SPARROW (near parking lot in morning)
- 3 Lark Sparrows
