Rick and I appear to have a whole family of beautiful Black-headed Grosbeaks
visiting our yard many times during the day.

I think they are birds who nested in the yard last year, and are doing so
again this year. We have at least three youngsters at various stages - one
or two "yearlings," still without all their mature coloring, and a couple of
    obvious babies.

There are six birds that I've counted in the yard at once, and all seem
related, and fairly tolerant of each other. They also come to our deck (with
seed that I've put out) with both my husband and I sitting right there
    talking, and taking pictures.
