    Hi all:

Grasshopper Sparrows were territorializing on the High
Ridge Loop Trail in Garin Dry Creek Pioneer Reg. Park
this morning. I didn't have to go much more than a
1/4 mile uphill from the main picnic area off of Garin
Ave, if that, before I could hear Grasshopper Sparrows
singing both upslope and downslope off the trail. I
hooked a left off the trail to see what I could see
and two Grasshopper Sparrows were flying around a
flattish area, perching on thistle, singing, flying 50
feet, perching, singing, and so forth. It was quite
entertaining to see them trying to show each other the
    territorial boundaries.

    Good birding,
