This is just a "maybe" sighting, not a probably, but
when I was at UC Botanical Gardens last Saturday,
womanning a BAMS mushroom table for Cal Day, I noticed
an unusually small, almost insectoid hummingbird in
the CA section (ironically enough). My first hit was
Calliope, my second that it was unlikely, but I had no
binocs to confirm. What with the current Calliope at
Mitchell Cyn., tho, perhaps it is worth another look
by Berkeley locals? Plus, a great time of year to
    stroll the gardens.

Just a thought, and a mystery, NOT a documented
sighting of a rare bird, so please don't send in the
troops! Unless it's to bird the Botanical Gardens,
which is a good show regardless of rareities.
