    Hi all:

I keep waiting for the annual arrival of the passing
Tanager in our Eucalyptus tree and the distant
Olive-sided Flycatcher in the neighborhood redwood
snag. They're not obliging so far. And the high-speed
commute over the Dumbarton that will eventually reveal
Phalaropes, has been equally unproductive. But Karen
Peterson has proved the adage that patience and
persistence are the hallmark of a big year, reporting
in with 219 species tonight. If you have your totals,
please send them along and please copy
    Bob at wingbeats.org.

Good birding, Alameda County or not,
