My last, best, bird of the day was a Short-eared Owl in Livermore around
5:40 this evening (2/3/08). I parked at the intersection of Hartford &
Lorraine. Almost immediately I saw three Northern Harriers flying around the field
to the south, and within 10 minutes of my arrival the Short-eared Owl appeared.

To get to this location, take N. Livermore Blvd. from I-580. Turn right on
Hartford and continue until it takes a sharp left turn and becomes Lorraine.
Park at the large pullout at the curve. The bird was in field south of
    there.

    Good birding,
