Scouring Coyote Hills from about 10:30 to 4 yesterday, I enjoyed fantastic
close-up and extended views of the Merlin, which I identified as a female
Taiga race. I also had a Sharp-Shinned Hawk circle overhead.

Other than that, my day was remarkable for what I didn't find. The rocks
were wrenless, the prairies falconless, and the moors were uncommonly
henless. In the cold, wind, and rain, some people might get a little
    bittern, but not me.

These birds were all present at Coyote Hills Reg'l Pk
    this morning.

The Prairie Falcon appears to be a juvenile, and has a
green band on the left leg numbered 7W. The right leg
may also have been banded but was obscured.
