    Sorry, this was delayed in part by the "plain text only" rule.
    
    Wednesday at MLK Jr. Shoreline there was a pair of burrowing owls 
    standing shoulder-to-shoulder on the mound where I have seen just one 
    before. Enter the park from the gate on Swan Way. Walk to or park near 
    the paved walking path that passes between the huge parking lot and the 
    restored wetland. The mound is along the entry drive, but the owls are 
    on the other side of the mound, so that you have to look from the 
    walking path. Because of the distance, a scope would have been useful, 
    but I could clearly see the owls with binoculars. One owl conveniently 
    took a short stroll around the mound, just to be sure he/she was seen, 
    perhaps!
