    Hi all:

I believe 14 of us braved the elements yesterday to
see how birds survive in the most difficult of
    conditions. And continue to fly and dive and forage;
because that's just what they do. Amazing creatures.

I don't actually know who was on the trip, as everyone
was so completely swaddled in gear as to make them
unrecognizable. BUT, everyone in class gets an A++ for
the weekend. Those who came on the trip for their
tenacity. Those who stayed home, for their exceptional
    common sense.

Trip list (and every one a beauty):

    Canada Goose
    Wood Duck
    Mallard
    Ring-necked Duck
    Lesser Scaup
    Bufflehead
    Common Goldeneye
    Hooded Merganser
    Common Merganser
    Ruddy Duck
    Pied-billed Grebe
    Eared Grebe
    Double-crested Cormorant
    Snowy Egret
    Green Heron
    Black-crowned Night-Heron
    American Coot
    Killdeer
    Rock Pigeon
    Western Scrub-Jay
    Bushtit
    Ruby-crowned Kinglet
    American Robin
    Yellow-rumped Warbler
    Song Sparrow
    White-crowned Sparrow
    Golden-crowned Sparrow

There was an Osprey reported before I got there
(Brooke). And I may have missed something...
The ducks were fabulous, the company was the same....
First time I've ever walked into a Starbuck's and
didn't even think twice about ordering a Mocha....
