I was at this park for a reason other than birding yesterday, so I
didn't carry my binoculars. However, I heard Red-breasted Nuthatch, Song
Sparrows, Bewick's Wren, Red-Shouldered Hawk, Brown Creepers, some
"chirping" along with the usual scream of Red-tailed Hawks, and the
metallic wing-buzz of a presumed Selaphorus hummingbird.

While I was listening for that, twice there was an odd sound that seemed
to be in conjunction with the bird flying by (I didn't see it). It
wasn't the chupity-chupity-chup, but reminded me somewhat of a softer,
higher-pitched Common Loon (closest thing I could think of). Cornell
says they don't "sing", so could this be a tail sound? The only thing I
could find that said anything about that is here:
    http://www.learner.org/jnorth/tm/humm/RufousOval.html. Unfortunately I
didn't get a recording of it.
