The male COMMON MERGANSER that I posted a photo of on
11/16 continues on Alameda Creek at the Niles staging
area.  Around 3 this afternoon, the bird was standing
on one leg on a rock in the middle of the creek,
dozing with its head under its wing. When I returned
fifteen minutes later, it was gone, and I did not find
it farther downstream, nor did I find its three lady
friends.

A male COMMON MERGANSER was on Shinn Pond, and three
BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT HERONS were along the pond's shore.
