[EBB Sightings] East Contra Costa Co. - 7 Jan 2008

Hi E. B. Birders,

Yesterday, I headed out to East Contra Costa. 

Clifton Forebay had at least 3,000 Canvasbacks, and I
estimated about 1000 Common Mergansers. A few hundred
Common Goldeneyes were scattered about.  

Holland Track had about 100 Sandhill Cranes, and 1000s
of Greater White-fronted Geese, all very vocal.  

I searched in vain for Ferruginous and Rough-legged
Hawk, but  I did see a Prairie Falcon on Marsh Creek
Road, near the turn off to the reservoir.  

My Contra Costa Big Year count now stand at 138.
