[EBB Sightings] Hayward Shoreline 01/31

Seen at the shoreline today

Tundra Swan - 1 in the city ponds east of Mt. Trashmore. This may be the same place where several were seen around 1/1/08.

Greater White-fronted Goose - 1 on the Radio Tower Hills.

Snow Goose - 1 on the Radio Tower Hills.

Ross Geese - None on the Radio Tower Hills where one week ago there had been 10.

Cackling Goose - 159 on the Radio Tower Hills. Included was the one with a neck collar reading '16J'.

Common Merganser - 1 female in the channel that runs under Winton Ave. just before the gate to the parking lot.

Prairie Falcon - 1 seen over the Radio Tower Hills and Ora Loma Marsh.

Also seen on the day - Tree Swallows, Barn Swallows, and White-throated Swifts.

Lapland Longspur - 1 on the slope just north of the paved trail out to Hayward's Landing.
