Saturday was just bursting with birds at the Alhambra Creek entrance of Broines Park. Beside the pair of Golden Eagles on top of the power poles, there was a pair of Red tail Hawks and a pair of White tailed Kites working out the nesting/hunting situation. A pair of Kestrels hang out on the wire along Reliez Valley (daily). The resident Cooper Hawk is good for moving the crows around. The woodpeckers (acron and downey) are quite talkitive, but he Red-breasted Sapsucker was new. The Kill Deer in the meadow accompany the Red Wing Black Birds where the meadow is low and holds the water.

An everyday occurance of many sparrows more than I can identify. Lots of Gold Crown and White Crown sparrow, Fow Sparrow and Song Sparrow, I'm sure someone could find a Lincoln if not more. The Ca Towhee, House Sparrow, Gold Finch, House Finch, Oak Titmouse, Black Phoebe, and Junco are always present. Today, we saw a Yellow-rump Warble and the Western Blue Birds that have come back to the nesting box. On the night side of things a lovely pair of Great Horn Owls watch over the old Black Ealnut grove.

A couple of weeks ago the Cedar Wax Wings were through and a visit from a Bewick's Wren.
It's about that time to see the Gold Crown Ringlet...something to look forward to.
