In the interest of documenting the status of the spreading oil slick, I'm noting the following results from todays PRBO/California Audubon Shorebird Census that Oliver James and I did along the north Richmond Shoreline.? There was no notable oil on the shoreline from Point Pinole (9 AM) to the Bay Trail at the landfill site off of Parr.? We saw about 750 shorebirds at a high tide roost at the landfill loop, and about 300 along the shoreline near the north end of Goodrich Avenue (about 1 PM), mostly Willets, avocets, godwits, Black-bellied Plover, Dunlin, Least Sandpipers with a few Black Turnstones and stilts.
