    Not an urban legend!

    Yesterday, while driving up the sidestreet between
    Piedmont Grocery and Peet's coffee, I saw a large bird
    standing, then walking calmly in the road. As I drove
    closer, I realized that it was a turkey, and not one
    bird, but two! There was a wide-eyed gal on a cell
    phone following the birds around, slack-jawed with
    amazement. Not sure who she was calling (Animal
    Control, the Audubon Society, or Ghostbusters) but
    smart-ass that I am, as I drove by, I shouted out..."a
    little early for Thanksgiving, enit?"

    So big, so handsome, so adaptable (so delicious?);
    gotta love turkeys.
