I didn't start through the park this morning until a little after 9:30, but
the Yellow-rumped Warblers were busy everywhere. I finally found one Yellow
    Warbler.

Two Cooper's Hawks sped from west to east over the large pond. A continuing
Red-shouldered Hawk was on the east side of the same pond. And for the
first time since Sept. 12, I saw a Moorhen. It appeared to be an adult in
the basic plumage, but I wonder if it might not be the young one which was
seen so much during August and early this month.

According to Sibley, the juveniles should look like juveniles until sometime
in February. Adults should be in basic plumage from Sept to Feb. The last
time I saw the young one it was looking more and more like an adult.
