[EBB Sightings] night birds

hey all is there some sort of nightjar in our area? monday night around 8:30 we were out in Round Valley enjoying standing in the path of bats streaming up the hill we were on waiting for twilight to end and off over the field below us there was some sort of night bird flying about whos silhouette really reminded me of a nightjar.  didnt see any owls but around 9:30 the screech from a barn owl hunting became a regular thing.
BTW is there a bay area bat list or something similar where i could talk about them?
