    Hi EBBers,

A few birds from various locations along the Eastshore State Park this
    morning during flood tide:

At the Seabreeze Restaurant (corner of University Ave and the frontage road
on the west side of Highway 80 in Berkeley) there was an adult BRANT and one
    WHIMBREL.

At the derelict pier at the race track (Buchanan exit off Highway 80) there
were six SURFBIRDS hanging out with the usual group of Black Turnstones.

There were two more WHIMBRELS on the shell mounds just south of Central Ave
as it approaches Costco (this may be just outside the north end of Eastshore
    State Park).

I noticed 28 RED-NECKED PHALAROPES along that stretch of the bay.

Probably the most UNBELIEVABLE sighting was a CHIPMUNK (!) just south of the
parking circle at the end of Spinnaker Way in Caesar Chavez Park on the
Berkeley Marina. As far as I know there are no chipmunks with a range that
includes the East Bay west of the East Bay Hills.

    Good birding,
