[EBB Sightings] Winton Ave

I took an hour in late morning to bird the shrubbery
along the road to the parking area at the Winton Ave.
entrance to the Hayward Shoreline. Found 1 SWAINSON'S
THRUSH & 2 COOPER'S HAWKS - 1 adult & 1 juvenile. The
adult Cooper's perched just 15' above me, putting
itself between me & the juvenile in the 1st eucalyptus
tree where a large nest is. It gave me some knockout
views, including seeing the eyelids blinking.
BTW - I guess the EBRPD crews trimmed the eucalyptus
tree. I spotted a nest (& have seen the juvenile
Cooper's perching near it a week ago) in the upper
east portion of the tree towards the road. Perhaps
this is the Cooper's nest this year.
