Today on Mt Diablo there were dozens of Hermit and Townsend's Warblers. We saw several at every stop from the junction campground up to Muir picnic area (we did not go higher). Other birds of interest were Ash-throated Flycatchers, Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, Swainson's Thrushes (Juniper Campground lower end), Cassin's Vireos, Western Tanagers, a few Wilson's Warblers, Black-headed Grosbeaks, Lazuli Buntings, Sage Sparrows, several late Golden-crowned Sparrows, and all the usual stuff. Total species about 55.

We dipped on Black-chinned Sparrow. Have they arrived yet?
