This morning a Spotted Sandpiper flew across the large natural pond in
Walnut Creek's Heather Farm Park. It perched on a rock along the east edge
of the island, near where the cormorants like to sit. I was told on
Thursday that two Spotted Sandpipers were seen on Tuesday morning. They
have been seen in the park one or two days each spring for a number of
years. Sometimes they can be seen during the fall migration, too.
