    Mitchell Canyon highlights for Monday, 4/16. (North side of Mt. Diablo)
    
    Warblers in order of abundance:
    Yellow-rumped (Audubon's)
    Orange-crowned
    Nashville (4 seen  at 3 locations from intersection of Red Rd. to about
    1/2 mile up Mitchell Canyon)
    Yellow-rumped (Myrtle)
    Wilson's (heard only)
    
    Note: Most warblers in mixed flocks foraging in "live" oaks.
    
    Flycathers:
    3 Hammond's (before Red Rd.)
    1 Dusky (about 1/4 mile up Red Rd.)
    1 Pacific-slope (heard only)
    Black Phoebe
    
    Hummer's:  Only Anna's
    
    Several Black-headed Grosbeaks seen and heard starting at Red Rd.

    Woodpeckers: Downy, Hairy, Nuttall's, Acorn
    
    Blue-gray Gnatcather at Red. Rd. intersection
    
    Vireos: Cassin's and Warbling (others saw Hutton's)
    
    Endemics in flower: Mt. Diable Sunflower (Helianthella castanea) in
    chaparral along Red Rd.; Mt. Diablo Globe Tulip (Calochortus pulchelus)
    along Mitchell Can.
