Birders flying Southwest out of Oakland may want to keep their 
binoculars easily accessible in their carryon luggage.  Yesterday I was 
pleasantly surprised to find that gates 30-32 (new in the last couple of 
months) have windows overlooking ponds and marshy areas.  In a 
ten-minute period I was able to identify about a dozen species!
