This morning between 9:30 and 10:00, or so, Gary and Eugenia Larson, Art and
Adele Edwards and I watched the Red-naped Sapsucker in the previously
described tree over the picnic table. The Sapsucker flew in while Art was
taking a break from the hunt, but was still there working high in the tree
when we all finally left. It moved from branch to branch, occasionally, but
never too far. It was very visible to us all, showing off all its main
features, but as Sapsuckers are likely to do, except for some tapping
sounds, it never made any vocal noises.
