What a difference a hours makes. Elionora and I were on Holey and Bryon
Hot Springs (wherever they are) about 1pm on Monday. We slowly drove the
length of BHS and ran into two or three Kestrels, one Red-tailed,
Savannah Sparrows, various black birds, lots of Western Meadowlarks, one
big raptor sp., and no owls at all, though I was expecting Burrowing and
hoping for Short-eared. I suspect earlier or later would have made the
    difference.

So we will go back over the weekend.
